Abstract: Food insecurity is a significant issue that impacts millions of individuals globally. Tajikistan, a landlocked country in Central Asia, faces substantial obstacles in terms of food security. Remittances play a crucial role in improving the wellbeing of the population in Tajikistan. However, despite the economic benefits, food security in Tajikistan remains a concern, with a significant proportion of the population experiencing food insecurity. This thesis analyzes the impact of remittances on food security at the household level in Tajikistan. This study aims to explore the following question: What is the correlation between remittances and food security in Tajikistan? This study uses a quantitative method approach to analyze the secondary data from a cross sectional survey Food Security and Nutrition (FSN) survey, conducted by World Food Programme. To analyze the relationship between remittances and food security status, a binary logistic model was employed. The empirical result showed that remittances have a positive impact on food security status in Tajikistan.
