Reform of the Pension System in the Kyrgyz Republic

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to research the pension systems’ experience throughout the world and further analyze the possible ways of reforming the Kyrgyz Republic Retirement Pension System. It will briefly describe the current pension system in the Kyrgyz Republic with short history, review the experiences of the post-Soviet countries Kazakhstan, Georgia, Moldova and Azerbaijan in the reform of their pension systems, and analyze the application of this experience to the Kyrgyz Republic.
