After a year and a half since the coronavirus outbreak, it is evident that its impact has extended beyond health, affecting many facets of human life in economic, social, and political dimensions. The government's response to the outbreak sparked a debate among social science researchers about the efficacy of liberal democracies in protecting citizens' lives. Whereas it was formerly thought that liberal values and democracies went hand in hand, the spread of the Corona virus has changed that view. The current study investigates the influence of Covid-19 on liberal democracy principles and assesses the performance of liberal democracy in combat against the virus. I'll employ secondary data analysis research methods to look at this topic. I use the existing quantitative data associated with the COVID-19 infected cases and case fatalities, and study the measures taken by governments to respond to the pandemic in light of liberal democracy principles to highlight the challenges which they pose to this regime. I investigate the topic in context of non-marxian historical theory. The current research contributes to the literature pertaining to the existing theories of political regimes on the one hand, and is also useful for policymaking in liberal democracies in link to the health crisis such as of the Corona virus outbreak on the other hand.en_US
