The purpose of the following study is to show the development of specific indexes of energy security over time period 2000-2010, to identify improvements and/or deteriorations, and to give recommendations on dealing with these deteriorations to enhance energy security. The model used in this paper is based on the methodology used by Brown and Sovacool et al. (2011). The concept of the model is an analysis of four dimensions of Energy security, each with its specific indicators. This paper consists of four chapters. In Chapter 1 we give energy profile of the analyzed country, and take a look a theoretical background. In Chapter 2 we introduce the model, and give data description. Chapter 3 proceeds with actual calculations for Turkmenistan and gives the comparison of Turkmenistan with other Central Asian Countries. Chapter 4 sums up obtained results, identifies weak and strong dimensions, and provides recommendations for improvement.en_US
