Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan still have not resolved territorial and border disputes between themselves since becoming an independent state due to political, social, economic challenges and the impact of the old Soviet border policy. As the collapse of the Soviet Union had the effect of reviving those border and territorial disputes between former Soviet republics than currently, states fail to resolve the problem delimitation and demarcation. The purpose of the thesis is to study the primary sources of protracted disputes between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan over the Vorukh - Ak-Sai part of the border which is a source of conflicts among border communities. Thus, current disputes between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan show no signs of abating which leads to the conflict eruption between two countries inhabiting Ferghana Valley.en_US
